Austin Public Schools announce hiring of new 7-12 Special Education Supervisor

The Austin Public Schools Special Services department recently announced the hiring of Christine Hulsebus as the district’s new 7-12 Special Education Supervisor.

Ms. Hulsebus, who holds an MA in Education with an emphasis in Special Education Leadership from Augsburg College, has been a special education and Alternative Learning Center teacher at Ellis Middle School since 2016. She holds multiple Minnesota state licenses, including K-12 Learning Disabilities, K-12 Emotional Behavior Disorders, Elementary Education, and 5-8 Language Arts.

District officials stated that the position was created as part of restructuring the Special Services department to meet the needs of students more efficiently and, among other benefits, will help smooth the transition planning for students as they move from elementary/intermediate to the middle/high school levels.
