Austin Packers volleyball team swept by Red Wing Tuesday 25-21, 25-16 and 25-20
The Austin Packers volleyball team traveled to Red Wing to take on the Wingers Tuesday evening for the second of back-to-back matches to start the week, and in the Big 9 Conference tilt, it was the Wingers coming away with a sweep on their home court by the scores of 25-21, 25-16 and 25-20.
As has been the norm lately, Isabella Bolster led the Packers offensively Tuesday evening with five kills, plus she also served up an ace, put up a set assist and tallied three blocks for good measure, which was tops for the club, Nora Sand contributed five kills and one block, Quinn Osgood also tallied five kills, plus she added 10 digs defensively, Ava Denzer compiled three kills, two digs and two blocks, Aggie McKichan chipped in three kills, three digs and two blocks, Kathryn Crouch led the Packers in digs Tuesday night with 14, plus she added two kills and two set assists, Alia Retterath put up nine set assists, plus she added four digs and two kills, Haleigh Holman led Austin in set assists Tuesday evening with 13, plus she came up with seven digs defensively, and Kristen Neilsen tallied one kill, one set assist and a team-high 13 digs.
With the loss, the Packers are now 2-5 in the Big 9 Conference and 11-11 overall, and a busy week for Austin will continue at Packer Gym Thursday night with a Homecoming week matchup with Northfield, the No. 3 ranked team in the state in the latest Class AAA poll, with the varsity action scheduled to start at 7:15 p.m.
