The Austin Packers girls swimming and diving team garnered fifth place at their own six-team invitational at Bud Higgins Pool Saturday.

The team results saw Rochester Century take first place handily with a total of 660 points, while Rochester Mayo was a distant second with 509 points.  Rochester John Marshall was third with a total of 364.5 points, Faribault was fifth with 270.5, then came Austin in fifth with 245, followed by Albert Lea with 193 points.

High finishers for Austin included the 200-yard medley relay team of Madelynn Murley, Molly Sheehan, Garry and Olivia Walsh, who took third with a time of 1:59.68, Hannah Thompson who was second in the diving competition for the Packers with 284.55 points, and Molly Garry, who was third in the 100 freestyle with a time of 58.79.  The 200 freestyle relay team of Molly Sheehan, Olivia Walsh, Madelynn Murley and Molly Garry was third with a time of 1:47.33.

The Packers are back into action on Thursday, when they travel to Rochester to take on Mayo in a Big 9 dual meet.  Start time is 6:00 p.m.
