Austin Packers girls’ basketball team goes over the century mark in lopsided win over Winona

Hope Dudycha led six Austin Packers in double figures in scoring with 21 points, plus she added four steals and five assists Thursday night as the Austin Packers girls’ basketball team exploded for 57 second half points on their way to a 102-40 rout of Winona at Ove Berven Gym.

The Packers led 45-26 at the half and besides Dudycha scoring in double figures, Erica Lundberg tallied 17 points and pulled in five rebounds, Colie Justice scored 15 points, Reana Schmitt chipped in with 12 points, Olivia Walsh and Cassidy Schute each added 11 Kyra Walters had six points and ten rebounds.

With the win, the Packers move a half-game ahead of idle Red Wing in the Big 9 Conference race at 12-2, and they are now 15-3 overall on the season.  Austin is back in action Saturday afternoon in Faribault against the Falcons, with the varsity tip-off at 1:00 p.m.
