Austin Packers girls’ basketball downs Mankato West 66-44 Tuesday evening
The Austin Packers girls’ basketball team, the No. 2 team in the state in the latest Class AAA poll took to the road Tuesday evening for a Big 9 Conference matchup with the Mankato West Scarlets, and in a game between two unbeaten squads early in the 2021-2022 season, Hope Dudycha led four Packers in double figures in scoring with 22 points as the Packers downed the Scarlets 66-44.
Besides Dudycha’s 22 points, Olivia Walsh added 14 points, Emma Dudycha and Ruby Kvam each added 10 points, Reana Schmitt chipped in eight points and Mya Walters scored two points for Austin, who now sport an overall record of 3-0, 2-0 in the Big 9 Conference.
The Packers must travel back to Mankato for their next game Friday to take on an East Cougars squad that is ranked right behind Austin in the latest Class AAA poll at No. 3.  Varsity tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
