Austin Packers boys’ golf team competes at Big 9 meet

The Austin Packers boys’ golf team traveled to Northern Hills Golf Course in Rochester for the Big 9 tournament Tuesday, and it was Mankato West taking first by a wide margin with a team score of 300, 22 strokes better than second place Northfield.  Owatonna was third with a score of 330, Rochester Century was a stroke back in fourth at 331, followed by Rochester Mayo and John Marshall in a tie for fifth at 333.  Red Wing came in seventh with a team total of 335, Mankato East and Albert Lea tied for eighth with a score of 338, Faribault was 10th with a total of 343, followed by Austin in 11th at 356 and Winona in 12th with a score of 413.

Senior Ian Bundy earned all-conference honors as his score of 81 placed him 8th overall, 7th grader Isaac Anderson carded an 88, 8th grader Cale Tupy shot a 93, 7th grader Elijah Krueger fired a 94, sophomore Max Bissen finished with a 95 and freshman Izaac Erickson carded a 97.

Austin returns to action at the Section 1AAA meet at The Jewel Golf Course in Lake City on June 2nd and 3rd.
