Austin Packers boys’ basketball team goes 2-0 at Lakeville North Tournament with 63-54 win over Apple Valley

Teyghan Hovland tallied 14 points, five rebounds and two steals, and Agwa Nywesh also added 14 points as the Austin Packers boys’ basketball team capped off an impressive performance at the Lakeville North Holiday Tournament over the weekend as they downed perrenial Class 4A power Apple Valley Saturday night 63-54.

Okey Okey was also in double figures in scoring Saturday for the Packers with 10 points, while Ogur Gari added seven points, Moses Idris and Pierre Lilly added six apiece and Victor Idris chipped in four points.

The Packers, who rallied to defeat the host Panthers 55-50 Friday night are now 7-1 overall on the season.  Austin will start the 2020 portion of their schedule Thursday night at Owatonna.
