Austin man sentenced to prison time on felony fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle, drug sale charges in Mower County District Court
An Austin man who pleaded guilty to felony fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle and drug sale charges in Mower County District Court stemming from incidents that occurred in Austin in August of 2022 and in June of 2023 has been sentenced to prison time.
36-year old Tony Viramonh was convicted and sentenced Wednesday to 17 months in prison for a felony charge of fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle stemming from a high-speed vehicle chase with authorities in Austin on August 26th, 2022. Misdemeanor charges for speeding, exceed 100 miles per hour and endanger person or property, and for failure to yield at a stop sign in the case against Viramonh in the case were dismissed with his guilty plea, and Viramonh first pleaded guilty to the charge on October 3rd, 2023.
Viramonh was also convicted and sentenced Wednesday to 49 months, or four years and one month in prison for a felony 3rd degree drug sale charge stemming from drug sales conducted by Viramonh in Austin on June 7th, 2023. Viramonh pleaded guilty to the charge on November 16th, 2023.
