Austin man sentenced to prison time on felony drug charge in Mower County District Court

An Austin man who pleaded guilty to a felony drug sale charge in Mower County District Court stemming from drug sales that took place in Austin on August 14th, 2023 has been sentenced to prison time.

50-year old Tristian Douglas Deters was convicted and sentenced Thursday to 75 months, or just over six years and two months in prison on an amended felony charge of 2nd degree drugs, sale of 10 or more grams of a narcotic other than heroin or fentanyl within 90 days.  Deters was originally charged with a felony for 1st degree drugs, sale of 17 grams or more of cocaine or methamphetamine within a 90-day period, and he was given credit for 85 days already served.

Deters pleaded guilty to the amended felony 2nd degree drug sale charge on January 2nd after pleading not guilty to the original felony 1st degree drug sale charge on November 16th, 2023.
