Austin man sentenced to jail time, supervised probation on felony criminal sexual conduct charge in Mower County District Court
An Austin man who conducted a sexual relationship with a 14-year old juvenile female in Austin in April has been sentenced to jail time, supervised probation, plus fines and fees in Mower County District Court.
18-year old Leonardo Antonio Nieto-Vasquez was convicted and sentenced Thursday to 30 days in jail, 10 years of supervised probation, $1,085 in fines and fees, plus 100 hours in the sentence to service program for a felony charge of 3rd degree criminal sexual conduct, penetration, victim 14-15 years of age, actor more than 24 months older. A 36-month prison sentence was stayed for 10 years if Nieto-Vasquez complies with the 28 different conditions of his probation, and he was given credit for 17 days already served.
Nieto-Vasquez pleaded guilty to the charge on May 12th, and an additional felony charge for 3rd degree criminal sexual conduct, penetration, victim 14-15 years of age, actor more than 24 months older, plus felony charges for soliciting a child through electronic communication to engage in sexual conduct, and engaging in electronic communication relating or describing sexual conduct with a child in the case against Nieto-Vasquez were dismissed with his guilty plea.
