Austin man pleads not guilty to multiple charges after allegedly kicking a Mower County Sheriff’s Deputy in the face

An Austin man who allegedly kicked a Mower County Sheriff’s Deputy in the face after being arrested for refusing to comply with field sobriety testing after an incident in Rose Creek on July 2nd has pleaded not guilty to five different charges against him in Mower County District Court.

25-year old Romario Louis Luke pleaded not guilty Thursday to charges of felony fourth-degree assault on a peace officer, demonstrable bodily harm, gross misdemeanors for fourth-degree assault, physically assault a peace officer and DWI, refuse to submit to a chemical test of blood or urine as required by search warrant, misdemeanors for fourth-degree DWI, under the influence of alcohol, and trespassing in a dwelling.  

A pre-trial hearing for Luke in Mower County District Court has been scheduled for October 16th.
