Austin man facing numerous charges in Mower County District Court after allegedly using stolen credit card

An Austin man who allegedly used a stolen credit card at two different liquor stores in Austin on May 27th, and who also tried to use the card unsuccessfully at a shoe store on the same day is facing numerous charges in Mower County District Court. 

40-year old Clifton Dale Robinson was charged Thursday with a felony for being a violent felon in possession of a firearm, a felony for being a violent felon in possession of firearm ammunition, a felony for fifth-degree drug possession and petty misdemeanors for possession of a small amount of marijuana and for possession of drug paraphernalia.  The charges stem from a search of Robinson’s residence for the stolen credit card on June 17th in the 300 block of 1st St. SE that turned up six grams of cocaine,  numerous suspected MDMA pills, a small amount of marijuana and a Taurus revolver containing five rounds of .38 special ammunition.  

Robinson is also facing charges of felony financial transaction card fraud, use without consent and two counts of gross misdemeanor financial transaction card fraud, use without consent. Robinson will make his first appearance on those charges in Mower County District Court on July 2nd.
