Austin man facing charges of burglary, domestic assault,

An Austin man who was arrested April 18 at a residence in the 700 block of 10th Street Northeast after he allegedly kicked in the residence door and threatened to kill a woman at the residence, and who also allegedly pushed and strangled the same woman during a domestic disturbance has been charged in Mower County District Court.

49-year old Ruben Trevino was charged Thursday with felonies for first-degree burglary, assault person in building/on property, first-degree burglary of an occupied dwelling and threats of violence, and a gross misdemeanor for domestic assault.  Trevino was also charged with a felony for storing methamphetamine paraphernalia in the presence of a child from another case.  

Trevino is also currently awaiting disposition in Mower County District Court on charges of fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle and driving while impaired, and in addition, Trevino was sentenced Thursday to 30 days in jail for a charge of contempt of court.

Trevino will make an initial appearance in Mower County District Court on August 24th.
