An Austin man who was allegedly found with a plastic bag containing 3.7 grams of heroin and a piece of folded aluminum foil containing 0.63 grams of heroin on his personage while being investigated for possibly stealing a vehicle from a residence on the 200 block of 2nd Street Southeast on September 11th has been charged with three felonies in Mower County District Court.

29-year-old Steven Regino Schwering has been charged with felonies for 3rd degree drugs, possession of three grams or more of heroin, 5th degree drug possession and theft, taking or driving a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent, plus a petty misdemeanor for possession of drug paraphernalia.  Schwering is also currently awaiting disposition on a felony domestic assault charge after allegedly giving a woman a bloody nose during a domestic disturbance on the evening of January 21st at an apartment on the 400 block of 2nd Street SE 

Schwering’s next appearance in Mower County District Court is scheduled for September 28th.
