Area playoff football roundup from Friday evening

The Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms, the defending State Class 1A football champions were seeking three section titles in a row in Blooming Prairie Friday evening as the No. 1 seeded Blossoms met the No. 3 seeded Randolph Rockets for the Section 1A title.  Blossoms quarterback Drew Kittleson threw four touchdown passes and running back Tyler Archer ran for two more as the Blossoms blew by the Rockets for the section title 49-6.

Kittleson found wide receiver Mitchell Fiebiger for touchdown passes of 20 and 42 yards, and he also hit Bradley Simon with TD passes of 5 and 25 yards in the rout.  Tyler Archer had scoring runs of 14  and 63 yards in the first half to give BP a 28-0 lead at the half, and Carson Benneke added a 15-yard run in the win for the Blossoms, who finish 5-0 on the year.

In LeRoy, the Cardinals of LeRoy/Ostrander played host to Spring Grove in the third place game in the Section 1 9-man football tournament, and quarterback Chase Johnson was 13 for 25 passing for 209 yards and two touchdowns while carrying the ball 25 times for 287 yards and another score in helping the Cardinals roll by the Lions 42-16.

Isaac Johnson added 13 carries for 67 yards and two touchdowns in the win, while Gavin Sweeney caught give of Chase Johnson’s passes for 120 yards and a touchdown, and Tristan Lewison added four catches for for 69 yards and a touchdown in the win for LeRoy/Ostrander, who finished the season with a record of 5-2.
