American Red Cross blood drives coming up in the Austin area in June and July

The American Red Cross wants everyone to have a safe and fun Fourth of July holiday, which includes ensuring a strong blood supply. Following a recent shortfall in donations, donors are especially needed over the upcoming holiday to make sure blood is available all summer long.  KAUS News spoke with Melanie Tschida, Executive Director for the American Red Cross in Rochester who stated that summertime does not change the need for blood donations…

American Red Cross blood drives scheduled for Austin and Mower County for the rest of June and into July include a drive at the J.C. Hormel Nature Center Wednesday, June 28th from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., also at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Austin on Monday, July 10th from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and another blood drive will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Brownsdale on Wednesday, July 12th from 1:00-7:00 p.m. that day.  Other American Red Cross blood drives in Austin for July include a drive at St. John’s Lutheran Church on Monday, July 24th from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and another drive will be held at the Hormel Institute, University of Minnesota in Austin 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 26th.
