Austin man sentenced to supervised probation on felony assault charge in Mower County District Court

An Austin man who threatened to stab a family member during an incident at a residence in southeast Austin in August has been sentenced to supervised probation in Mower County District Court.

22-year old Eddie Alejo was convicted and sentenced Thursday to five years of supervised probation after pleading guilty on September 8th to a felony charge of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon for an incident that took place on August 7th.  Austin Police reported that Alejo was eating supper with his family at a residence in the 2100 block of 3rd Avenue SE in Austin when he became upset.  Police stated  that Alejo started throwing food and chairs, scratched his mother’s arm, and threatened to stab his 10-year-old brother with a knife.  Officers later located Alejo hiding under a vehicle in an open garage in the 900 block of 9th Avenue SE.

Alejo must comply with 19 different conditions while on probation, and additional felony charges for domestic assault and fleeing a peace officer by means other than a motor vehicle in the case were dismissed with his guilty plea.

Alejo initially pleaded not guilty to the three felony charges against him on August 21st.
