Pillars of the City of Austin Committee looking for 2020 nominations

The Pillars of the City of Austin Committee is still seeking nominations from the general public of individuals they believe should be featured on a plaque on the flood wall pillars on North Main Street.

Nominees are individuals, both past and present, who have made significant contributions to Austin via growth, economic impact, health, education, culture, recreation, communications, business or scientific innovation.  The committee unveils the inductees each year in Bandshell Park during Freedom Fest on the 4th of July.  

More information on the current pillars can be found at the City of Austin’s webpage at www.ci.austin.mn.us.  Nominations for 2020 are due to City Clerk Ann Kasel by December 31st.  They can be sent via email to [email protected], mailed to 500 Fourth Ave. NE, Austin, MN 55912, or dropped off at Austin City Hall.
