Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin and Albert Lea, and Mayo Clinic Health System in Red Wing are being recognized for outstanding achievement in attaining recognition as a Blue Distinction Center for Maternity Care by the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA). This recognition is granted to healthcare facilities that demonstrate expertise and commitment in providing high-quality maternity care services safely and effectively.

To achieve recognition as a Blue Distinction Center for Maternity Care, healthcare facilities must meet specific criteria established by BCBSA. These criteria encompass:

  • Clinical quality
  • Expertise and experience
  • Maternity care practices
  • Patient safety and satisfaction
  • Efficiency and cost-effectiveness
