Former Austin man sentenced to prison time on burglary and assault charges in Olmsted County District Court

A man facing felony burglary and assault charges in Olmsted County District Court has been sentenced to prison time. 

35-year-old Richard Souhrada, formerly of Austin was sentenced Wednesday to four years in prison.  According to court documents, Souhrada pushed his way into an apartment in northwest Rochester in March. A man and woman living there told authorities that Souhrada threatened to evict them and told them to leave immediately. 

The two didn’t leave and Souhrada hit the man in the face and ran off.  Authorities reported that he was not able to escape as other tenants in the apartment complex held him in a hallway until police arrived.
