Austin Packers girls swimming and diving team downs Rochester John Marshall 95-81 Tuesday evening

The Austin Packers girls swimming and diving team traveled to Rochester John Marshall High School Tuesday evening for a Big 9 Conference meet with the Rockets,  and it was the visiting Packers leaving with a 95-81 win.

High finishers for Austin Tuesday evening included the 200 medley relay team of Alivia Hemry, Anna Kossman, Gracie Greenman and Addison Tobak, who took second with a time of 2:13.79, and Tobak also took second in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:24.01, while teammate Madeline Hicks was third with a time of 2:30.50.  In the 200 individual medley, Madison Tauger and Gracelyn Johnson-Mer were second and third, respectively, with times of 2:48.76 and 2:58.13, and Alivia Hemry and Anna Kossman went 2-3 in the 50 freestyle with times of 27.12 and 27.98 seconds.

In 1-meter diving, the Austin duo of Alayna Kennedy and Reese Norton again went 1-2, as Kennedy was first with 233.15 total points, and Norton was second with 219.45 points, and Abbie Boysen and Clara McIntyre were second and third in the 100 butterfly, with Boysen swimming a time of 1:12.77, and McIntyre finishing with a time of 1:29.44.  Gracie Greenman and Leah Pischke finished second and third, respectively, in the 100 freestyle with times of 58.88 and 1:03.79, and Anna Kossman registered a first-place finish for the Packers in the 500 freestyle with a time of 6:19.83, and teammate Eva Taylor was third with a time of 6:32.05.

Austin’s 200 relay team of Alivia Hemry, Abbie Boysen, Gracie Greenman and Leah Pischke were first Tuesday night with a final time of 1:50.80, and the team of Madison Tauger, Addison Tobak, Sydney Tobak and Anita Rao were second with a time of 1:57.36.  Hemry and Addison Tobak also went 2-3 in the 100 backstroke Tuesday evening with times of 1:14.90 and 1:18.25, respectively.

The Packers are now off until Tuesday, October 10th when they will play host to Rochester Mayo in a Big 9 Conference meet, with the action scheduled to start 6:30 p.m. that evening.
