Mower County records 14 additional COVID-19 cases Friday for cumulative total of 4,393

Mower County logged 4,275 confirmed and 118 probable COVID-19 cases Friday for a cumulative total of 4,393 since the onset of the pandemic, a rise of 14 from Thursday, according to statistics released Friday by the Minnesota Department of Health.  Pam Kellogg, Division Manager with Mower County Health and Human Services reported that there are approximately 80 active COVID-19 cases in the county, at this time.

Olmsted County recorded 12,382 cumulative cases Friday, also up 14 from Thursday, Steele County reported 3,368 cumulative cases Friday, up 11 from Thursday, Freeborn County now has 3,112 cumulative COVID-19 cases, up 15 from Thursday, Dodge County logged 1,636 cumulative cases Friday, a rise of six from Thursday and Fillmore County now has 1,489 cumulative COVID-19 cases, up four from Thursday.  .

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 2,553 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Friday for a cumulative total of 524,203 positive COVID-19 cases since the start of the pandemic, and they added that Minnesota’s death toll from the coronavirus rose by four Friday to 6,864 since the onset of the pandemic.  A total of 27,476 COVID-19 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalization since the pandemic started, and 5,651 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
