Grand Meadow Superlarks down Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms in non-conference girls basketball 57-47 Thursday evening

The Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms girls basketball team was looking to keep their record unblemished Thursday evening as they traveled to Grand Meadow to take on the Superlarks in a non-conference matchup, but it was the Larks draining seven 3-pointers and finishing with three players in double figures in scoring, led by Gracie Foster’s 17 as the Superlarks downed the Blossoms 57-47.

Grand Meadow led 29-25 at the half and slowly pulled away in the second half for the win, and a big part of the win for the Larks was their 12-13 shooting from the free-throw line, while Blooming Prairie was 2 for 4.

Besides Foster’s 17 points, Lexy Foster tallied 16 points for the Superlarks Thursday night, Lauren Queensland was also in double figures with 14 points, Rylee Schaufler added seven points, and Grace Soltau chipped in three points in the win.  For Blooming Prairie, Addison Doocy led the way in scoring with 11 points, Macy Lembke swished two of the club’s seven 3-pointers on her way to 10 points, Claire Schwarz drained three 3’s for nine points, Sienna Fyksen tallied a pair of 3’s on her way to eight points, Catelyn Bartlett scored three points, and Ella Salinas, Hailey Schmacher and Ella Smith all tallied two points apiece.

With the win, the Superlarks are now a perfect 3-0 on the young season, and Grand Meadow is right back into action tonight (Friday) versus Rushford-Peterson, with the varsity tip-off at 7:15 p.m.  With the loss, Blooming Prairie is now 3-1 overall, and 2-0 in the Gopher Conference.  The Blossoms return to action next Tuesday evening versus Medford in the Gopher Conference, with varsity tip-off at 7:15 p.m. that evening.
