Austin Packers wrestling team knocks off Rochester John Marshall 32-30 in dramatic fashion Thursday evening

The Austin Packers wrestling team played host to the Rochester John Marshall Rockets in a Big 9 Conference dual meet under the spotlight at Ove Berven Gym Thursday evening, and on a night where the Packers honored their three seniors, Tony Garicia, Jamie Beyer, and Ezequiel Tomas Nicolas, a close, competitive, back and forth dual came down to the last match of the night at Heavyweight.  The Packers were down 30-27 going into the match, but junior Captain Samuel Winkels, who is currently ranked 4^th in the state at Heavyweight in Class AA defeated Wyette Stanton by technical fall 19-4 to earn the squad five points and the dramatic victory by a score of 32-30.

Austin returns to action Saturday in a 15-team invitational at Eastview High School, with the action slated to get underway at 10:00 a.m.
