Austin Packers wrestling team competes at Big 9 triangular at Rochester Century Thursday evening

A very young Austin Packers wrestling team kicked off the team dual portion of their 2023-2024 schedule with a Big 9 Conference triangular at Rochester Century Thursday night versus the host Panthers and Owatonna, and it was the Packers falling to Century 58-9, and 60-12 to Owatonna.

Head Coach Jacob Nelson stated that Samuel Winkels went 2-0 on the night and William Mullenbach also wrestled well getting in picking up a pair of wins for the Packers Thursday evening.  Coach Nelson went on to state that his squad is very young this season with several new wrestlers in the mix, but he added that they are hard workers and hope to catch on quickly.

The Packers are now off until next Thursday, December 14th when they will travel to Northfield for a Big 9 Conference triangular with the host Raiders and Winona, with the action scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m. that evening.
