Lyle/Pacelli Athletics boys basketball team falls to Spring Grove 79-26 Monday evening

The Lyle/Pacelli Athletics boys basketball team wound up a three-game road swing in Spring Grove Monday evening versus a Lions team that has hit its stride as of late, and look intent on defending their Section 1A title.  In a game that saw the No. 3 ranked Lions hold the Athletics to 10 of 50 shooting overall for the game for 20%, Spring Grove jumped out to a 27-2 lead to start the game on their way to a 79-26 win.

Leland Hicks drained two of LP’s five 3-pointers in the game to lead the club offensively with six points, Dylan Christianson and Landon Meyer each scored four points, Andrew Fredrick and James Schulte each tallied three points, and Logyn Brooks, Grant Frank and Chase Bauer all scored two points apiece, with Bauer pulling in a team-high seven rebounds.

With the loss, the Athletics are now 6-9 in the Southeast Conference and 8-12 overall, and Lyle/Pacelli returns to the friendly confines of All Saints Arena for their next game Thursday night versus Southeast Conference foe LeRoy/Ostrander, with the varsity tip-off at 7:15 p.m.
