Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms boys basketball team rolls by Triton 84-60 Monday evening

The Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms boys basketball team, the No. 10 team in the state in the latest Class A poll was in search of a regular-season sweep of Gopher Conference rival Triton at home Monday evening, and in a game that saw a combined 21 3-pointers converted, 11 for the Blossoms and 10 for the Cobras, Gabe Hein swished two 3-pointers on his way to 24 points to help lead the Blossoms to an 84-60 win.

The Blossoms led 44-33 at the half, and besides Hein’s 24 points, twin brother Zack Hein drilled five 3’s on his way to 21 points, Brady Kittleson swished a pair of 3’s as he scored 17 points, Gabe Staloch notched two 3-pointers on his way to eight points, Jacob Pauly and Kolby Vigeland each scored six points apiece, and Cooper Cooke added two points in the win.

The Awesome Blossoms raise their record to 19-2 overall on the season with the win and 11-1 in the conference, and the Blossoms return to action in Faribault Friday night versus the Cardinals of Bethlehem Academy, with the Gopher Conference matchup getting underway at 7:15 p.m.
