The Austin Packers gymnastics team played host to the Big 9 meet Saturday at Packer Gym, and the Packers were able to finish with a score of 133.250, good for sixth place in the 11-team field.  The Owatonna Huskies took home first place in the meet for the fifth year in a row with a final team score of 145.875.  Northfield was runner-up while Mankato West took third.

Claire Raymond took 11th in the all-around competition for the Packers, as she was 19th on the vault with a score of 8.795, ninth on the uneven bars with a score of 8.625, 16th on the beam with a score of 8.625 and 19th on the floor exercise with a score of 8.95.  Other high finishers for Austin included Mariah Morey, who was 12th on the beam with a score of 8.85 while senior teammate Morgan Raymond was 14th with a score of 8.80.

Austin will be back in action at the Section 1A gymnastics meet Saturday at Rochester Century High School.
