The Austni Packers volleyball team played host to Big 9 rival Northfield at Packer Gym Thursday evening, and Sydney Janes racked up 13 kills, two ace serves, two blocks and seven disgs a 25-12, 25-10, 25-13 Raider win.
Austin was led offensivley by Peyton Manahan and Thwol Othow, who both tallied three kills, while Manahan added eight digs defenisvley and Othow added two blocks, Joy Deng put down two kills and led the Packers in blocks with four, Kennedy Bell tallied two kills and led Austin in digs with 13, plus she added one block, and Nevaeh Borg served up an ace and added eight digs.
The Packers are now 0-6 in the Big 9 Conference and 1-16 overall, and they are back on the court next Tuesday night in Winona against the Winhawks, with the varsity start time set for 7:15 p.m.
The Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms volleyball team was in New Richland Thursday night for a Gopher Conference matchup with NRHEG, and it was the Blossoms taking the first set 26-24, but the host Panthers rallied to take the next three 25-20, 25-16 and 25-19 for the win.
Blooming Prairie was led offensivley by Haven Carlson and Abby Hefling, as Carlson tallied eight kills, an ace serve, six blocks and four digs, while Hefling added seven kills and two blocks. Anna Pauly chipped in four kills, two blocks and two digs, Grace Krejci contributed three kills, plus she was one of four Blosssoms in double-digits in digs with 11, Josie Hoffman added two kills, two ace serves, a block and 11 digs, Macy Lembke put up nine set assists for BP, plus she added one kills, two ace serves and led the club in digs with 14, Madi Lea tallied 12 digs defensivley and Lexi Steckelberg chipped in nine set assists, an ace serve and three digs.
With the loss, the Blossoms are now 0-6 in the Gopher Conference and 3-15 overall on the season. Blooming Prairie returns to action at home next Tuesday night for a conference showdown with Randolph, with the varsity match set to start at 7:15 p.m.
