Junior Colton Landers scored 24 points, pulled in nine rebounds and added two blocked shots to help the Grand Meadow Superlarks boys’ basketball team snap Lyle/Pacelli’s 10-game winning streak 66-49 in a Southeast Conference showdown Tuesday evening at All Saints Arena.

Besides Landers, Evan Oehlke was also in double figures for the Larks with 10 points, while Ben Kraft added eight points, Ethan Gilbert and Zach Hoffman six apiece and point guard Ethan Lane chipped in five points, five rebounds and five assists for Grand Meadow, who led by six at the half and outscored the Athletics 32-21 in the second half to pull away.

For LP, freshman guard Buay Koak led the Athletics in scoring with 23 points, while Jed Nelson added 13 points and Cole Walter tallied five points.  Grand Meadow is now 7-1 in the SEC West and tied with Randolph for first place, and they are 11-4 overall on the season.  Lyle/Pacelli drops to 6-3 in the SEC West and 10-4 overall, and they return to action Friday night at home against SEC East leader Schaeffer Academy, with the varsity tip-off at 7:15.  Grand Meadow, who was the last team to defeat Lyle/Pacelli before their 10-game winning streak will also return to action Friday night at home against Spring Grove.

In other action, the Southland Rebels were in Winona for a Three Rivers Conference matchup against the Cotter Ramblers, and Daniel Boe, Reece Tapp and Nick Boe were all in double figures in scoring to help lead the Rebels past the Ramblers 64-54.

Daniel Boe poured in 24 points for Southland, while Tapp added 11 points and Nick Boe 10.  The Rebels led 29-14 at the half and pushed their lead to as large as 18 on their way to the win.  Southland snapped a two-game losing streak with the win and pushed themselves back above .500 at 6-5 overall and 4-3 in the Three Rivers Conference.  The Rebels will start a two-game homestand Thursday night in Adams as they play host to LeRoy/Ostrander, with tip-off at 7:30 p.m.

The Cardinals played host to the Wolverines of Glenville/Emmons Tuesday night in a Southeast Conference game, and Riley Olson led four Cardinal players in dobule figures with 26 points to help lead LeRoy/Ostrander to a lopsided 83-50 win.

Besides Riley Olson’s 26 points, Tanner Olson scored 19 points for the Cardinals while Levi Royston and Chase Johnson each added 12.  LeRoy/Ostrander led 44-21 at the half and cruised through the second half on their way to win to raise their record to 4-5 in the SEC and 6-8 overall on the season.

The Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms were also in action Tuesday night on the road against Medford in a Gopher Conference clash, and the Blossoms avenged their first defeat of the season last Friday against a talented Waterville/Elysian/Morristown squad by blowing past the Tigers 61-43.

Gabe Hagen notched 20 points to lead the offensive attack for BP, while Karson Viegland scored 11 points and Kaden Thomas added 10 points in the win for Blooming Prairie, who raises their record to 4-1 in the Gopher Conference and 8-1 overall on the season.  The Blossoms are back into action Thursday night in Dodge Center against the Triton Cobras, with the varsity tip-off at 7:15 p.m.  You’ll hear the game live on AM 1480 KAUS, also online at myaustinminnesota.com and on the I Heart Radio app.
