YMCA at the Austin Community Recreation Center set to open February 3rd
The YMCA at the Austin Community Recreation Center is close to opening its doors to the general public, as the facility will open its doors at 5:00 a.m. on the morning of Monday, February 3rd. Diane Baker, the CEO of the Austin YMCA spoke with KAUS and stated that the Y will be getting a much needed upgrade, and she added that the new facility will also expand their services to welcome more people from the community…
Baker went on to state that the rates for the new facility will strike a balance between accessibility and sustainability…
Baker stated that some of the main goals for the facility are to create a sense of community, enhancing the member’s experience and for those that use the facility to find that there’s something for everyone…
Baker went on to state that a number of membership options are available to address the needs in the community and there will be the option to purchase day passes. Financial assistance and scholarships will be available to those who qualify. More information about that program can be found by contacting the facility’s membership team or by attending the Beat-the-Rush membership event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1st. The community will be able to tour the facility, see amenities and sign up for memberships.
