Two people injured in two-vehicle accident that involved alcohol north of Lyle Friday afternoon

Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident that involved alcohol Friday afternoon on U.S. Highway 218 north of Lyle.  

The Minnesota State Patrol reported that a 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix being driven by 41-year old Brett Alan Frank of Lyle was southbound on Highway 218 north of Lyle at approximately 12:42 p.m. Friday afternoon when he collided with a 2008 Subaru Outback being driven by 53-year old Sarah Mae Ehret of Austin.  

Both Frank and Ehret suffered non-life threatening injuries in the accident.  The State Patrol reported that Frank, who was determined to have used alcohol was transported to Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Austin, while Ehret was taken to Mayo Clinic/St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.  Both parties were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident, and The Lyle Fire Department, Lyle 1st responders and Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service all assisted the State Patrol at the accident scene.
