Two people injured in two-vehicle accident on Interstate 90 in Freeborn County Wednesday afternoon

Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 90 in Freeborn County Wednesday afternoon.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported that a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country Van being driven by 79-year old Florence Mae Olson of Glenville, and a 2020 Honda CRV SUV being driven by 66-year old Milan Botello-Vazquez of Austin were both eastbound on Interstate 90 at approximately 12:15 p.m. Wednesday afternoon when the two vehicles collided at milepost 164 in Hayward Township.

Both Olson and Botello-Vazquez sustained non-life threatening injuries in the accident, and both were transported to Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Albert Lea for treatment.  The State Patrol indicated that both parties involved in the accident were wearing their seatbelts, and the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office, the Hayward Fire Department, and Mayo Clinic Ambulance all assisted the State Patrol at the accident scene Wednesday afternoon.
