Two people injured in one-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 14 in Dodge County early Monday morning
Two people were injured in a one-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 14 in Dodge County early Monday morning.
The Minnesota State Patrol reported that a 2007 Lexus ES Sedan being driven by 23-year old Wael Ahmed Alolaywi of Mankato was traveling westbound on Highway 14 at approximately 12:39 a.m. Monday morning when his vehicle left the snow and ice-covered roadway and struck the guardrail at Highway 56 in Ashland Township.
Alolaywi and a passenger in his vehicle, 22-year old Nelly Christina Tezai of Mankato both suffered non-life threatening injuries, and both were transported to Mayo Clinic/St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester for treatment. The State Patrol indicated that both parties involved in the accident were wearing their seatbelts, and the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, plus Fire and Ambulance from Dodge Center all assisted the State Patrol at the accident scene early Monday morning.
