Two people were injured in a four-vehicle, chain reaction-type accident Wednesday evening in Austin. 

The accident occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m. Wednesday evening on U.S. Highway 218, just north of Interstate 90. The Minnesota State Patrol reported that 29-year old Tony Michael Schoepf of Albert Lea, was driving north when he collided with a vehicle driven by 52-year old Shaneva Dawn Johnson of Austin. The State Patrol reported that Johnson’s vehicle then collided with a vehicle driven by 18-year old Pierre Rene Lilly of Austin, and Lilly’s vehicle then collided with a vehicle driven by 41-year old Andrea Lynn Peterson of Pemberton near the Highway 218 exit ramp.

Shaneva Johnson and a passenger in her vehicle, 22-year old Kami Alysse Hogan of Austin, suffered non-life threatening injuries and were transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin.  Lilly and a passenger in his vehicle, 17-year old Adamari Cruz of Austin, Schoepf and Peterson were all uninjured.  

The Mower County Sheriff’s Office, the Austin Police and Fire Departments, plus Mayo Clinic Ambulance all assisted the State Patrol at the accident scene.
