Two motorcycles stolen from East Oakland Avenue residence in Austin

Austin Police are investigating after a pair of motorcycles were reported stolen from a residence on East Oakland Avenue.

Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1700 block of East Oakland Avenue at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon and spoke to the victim, who stated that two green Kawasaki dirt bikes, with a combined value of nearly $6,000 had been stolen despite having been strapped to a trailer that was parked next to his house.  The victim went on to tell authorities that he had strapped the bikes to the trailer on Sunday, but found they had been stolen when he returned home from an out-of-town trip Tuesday.

Austin Police Captain Todd Clennon stated that there are no suspects at this time, and he added that if anyone has any information concerning the thefts, they are encouraged to call Austin Police at 437-9400.  Calls, as a reminder, can remain anonymous.
