Two Austin residents airlifted to Rochester after two-vehicle accident in Albert Lea Tuesday morning
Two residents of Austin were injured Tuesday morning after a T-bone type accident at the intersection of Newton Avenue and 4th Street in Albert Lea.
Albert Lea Police reported that 30-year old Deonte D. Davenport, and 35-year old Nicole Latrice Beasley, both of Austin, were transported by helicopter to Mayo Clinic St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester for injuries.
Authorities stated that Davenport was driving a 2009 Nissan Maxima north on Newton Avenue with Beasley and a 5-year-old child at approximately 6:45 a.m. Tuesday morning when he reportedly ran the stop sign at the intersection with 4th Street and collided with a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Alan Marvin Drescher of Albert Lea that was eastbound on 4th Street.
Police stated Drescher was examined at the scene by ambulance crews.
Police took a blood sample from Davenport and are awaiting results.
