Two additional COVID-19 cases recorded in Mower County Friday for cumulative total of 4,788
Mower County logged 4,653 confirmed and 135 probable COVID-19 cases Friday for a cumulative total of 4,788 since the onset of the pandemic, up two from Thursday, according to statistics released Friday by the Minnesota Department of Health. Health officials added that 43,372 healthcare workers in the state have now tested positive for the virus, and just over 601,000 people have now been reported as no longer needing isolation.
Olmsted County recorded 13,587 cumulative cases Friday, a jump of 20 from Thursday, Steele County reported 4,018 cumulative cases Friday, up two from Thursday and Freeborn County confirmed 3,536 cumulative COVID-19 cases Friday, up five from Thursday. Dodge County now has 1,918 cumulative cases, also up five from Thursday and Fillmore County recorded 1,605 cumulative COVID-19 cases Friday, up four from Thursday.
The Minnesota Department of Health reported 702 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Friday for a cumulative total of 612,701, and they added that five additional COVID-19 related deaths were recorded in the state from Thursday to Friday for a cumulative total of 7,668 since the onset of the pandemic. A total of 33,331 COVID-19 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalization since the start of the pandemic, and 6,734 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
