The Tampa Bay Rays held the Minnesota Twins to just five hits in a 6-0 win in Minneapolis yesterday afternoon.

Tampa’s Jeffrey Springs got the start and allowed just two hits in 5 1/3 scoreless innings to earn his third win of the season. Kevin Kiermaier had a home run and two RBI for the winning team.

Tampa Bay has won four of its last six.

Minnesota right-hander Cole Sands fell to 0-3 after surrendering five runs in 4 2/3 innings of work. Twins shortstop Carlos Correa had two of his team’s five hits.

The loss ends Minnesota’s two-game winning streak and leaves the season mark at 35-27.

The Twins lead Cleveland by three-games in the AL Central.

Minnesota opens a three-game series tonight in Seattle at 9:10 PM.
