Three suspects were either taken into custody or cited after Austin Police Officers responded to a firearms complaint in the northwest section of the city early Saturday morning.

Officers responded to the complaint at a residence in the 100 block of 8th St. NW at approximately 3:12 a.m. Saturday morning, and upon arrival, Chief of Police Dave McKichan reported that several subjects were seen running from the scene and some were also seen running to a nearby residence. Shell casings were located outside, as was a vehicle with a bullet hole in it. While there had been a physical assault, Chief McKichan stated that officers did not locate anyone who had been shot. A search warrant was served at the residence, but McKichan indicated that no firearm was located.

Three individuals were arrested or cited in connection with the case, including 19-year old Isaiah Johnson of Dodge Center, who was taken into custody on a charge of being a felon in possession of ammunition.  24-year old Matthew Hernandez of Austin was taken into custody on a parole violation, and Chief McKichan stated that 19-year old Andres Rodriguez of Claremont was booked and released with a citation for disorderly conduct, and for liquor consumption by a person under the age of 21.
