Three people injured in two-vehicle accident in Olmsted County
Three people were injured in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 30 in Olmsted County Tuesday morning.
The Minnesota State Patrol reported that a 2011 Chevy Malibu being driven by 53-year old Velida Mahalbasic of Waterloo, Iowa was northbound on Olmsted County Road 1 at approximately 8:19 a.m. Tuesday morning while a 2005 Hyundai Tucson being driven by 67-year old Mary Agnes Ferreter of Racine was eastbound on Highway 30. The two vehicles collided at the intersection of the two roads.
Ferreter, Mahalbasic and a passenger in Mahalbasic’s vehicle, 66-year old Ahmet Mahalbasic of Waterloo, Iowa all suffered non-life threatening injuries and were transported to Mayo Clinic/St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester for treatment. The State Patrol went on to report that Ferreter was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident, while both the Mahalbasics were not.
The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office, Mayo Ambulance, the Stewartville Fire Department and Mayo One all assisted the State Patrol at the accident scene.
