State Patrol investigating two-vehicle accident with a fatality just south of Blooming Prairie

The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle accident with a fatality that occurred at 5:40 a.m. this morning on U.S. Highway 218, approximately one mile south of Blooming Prairie in Westfield Township of Dodge County.
The State Patrol reported that a Toyota Camry that was southbound on Highway 218 collided with a northbound GMC Acadia, and after the collision, the Toyota caught fire. The identities of those involved in the accident have not yet been released, and the State Patrol added that further information will be released when available.
Sheriff’s Offices from Mower, Dodge and Steele Counties assisted the State Patrol at the accident scene.
