Smith says studies have shown that nicotine is harmful to the adolescent brain. And the 2019 Minnesota Student Survey showed that 76-percent of 11th graders are not aware of the dangers associated with e-cigarettes.  More than 50 Minnesota communities, including Austin, Albert Lea and Waseca locally have approved limiting tobacco sales to people 21 years of age and older.
