Start of 2020-2021 school year for Austin Public Schools pushed back to Wednesday, September 2nd and Thursday, September 3rd
In an effort to give teachers and staff more time to prepare for the upcoming school year, the Austin Public Schools have pushed back the start of the 2020-21 school year to Wednesday, September 2nd and Thursday, September 3rd.
School District officials determined that Austin Pre-K and elementary schools will have conferences Monday, August 31st and Tuesday, September 1st, with Wednesday, September 2nd being the first day of school for grades pre-K through 6th grade for both in-person and pre-K through 6th grade elected distance learning.
Thursday, September 3rd will be the first day of school for grades 7-12, with in-person instruction for the Packer hybrid group, distance learning for the Austin hybrid group and 7-12 elected distance learners.
