Southland Rebels boys’ basketball outgunned by St. Charles Thursday night 101-89

The Southland Rebels boys basketball team found themselves in a high-scoring shootout in St. Charles Thursday night against the Fighting Saints in a Three Rivers Conference matchup and the Saints, who average just under 80 points a game were too much in the end for the Rebels as they pulled away in the second half with 62 points to win 101-89.

Southland drilled 17 three pointers as a team in the game and had six players in double figures with Daniel Boe leading the way with 18 points.  Brendan Kennedy added 17 points, while Matt Mueller accounted for 15, Reece Tapp and Nick Boe each added 11 points and Harrison Hannah chipped with 10 points for the Rebels, who fell to 4-8 in the conference and 8-11 overall on the season with the loss.

Southland returns to action next Tuesday in Adams as they kick off a four-game homestand against Chatfield, withe the varsity tip-off at 7:30  p.m.
