South Dakota man facing three felony counts of 2nd degree murder after early Saturday morning shooting in Austin

A South Dakota man who is the main suspect in the early Saturday morning shooting death of an Austin man is facing three felony counts of 2nd degree murder in Mower County District Court.  

Austin Chief of Police Dave McKichan reported that an arrest warrant has been issued for 18-year old Miguel Nunez Jr., of Sioux Falls South Dakota in the case involving the shooting death of 45-year old David Harris, of Austin at a residence in the 100 block of 12th St. NE in Austin just after 1:00 a.m. Saturday morning.  Harris was identified as the victim of the shooting Tuesday, and authorities stated that Harris lived at the residence where the shooting took place.  Authorities indicated that Nunez is believed to have fled from the Austin area, and his whereabouts are unknown at this time.  Nunez is considered extremely dangerous and should not be approached, and Chief McKichan stated that anyone having information on his whereabouts should call law enforcement. 

McKichan stated that the incident is being investigated as a homicide, and he added that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
