South Dakota man facing felony motor vehicle theft charges in Mower County District Court

A South Dakota man allegedly found in possession of stolen items and driving a stolen vehicle after a traffic stop in the Wal-Mart parking lot in Austin on November 2nd has been charged in Mower County District Court.

35-year-old Edward Arnold Clay, of Rapid City, South Dakota has been charged with felonies for theft, take/drive motor vehicle without owner consent and for theft, take/use/transfer movable property without consent.  Clay was also charged with a gross misdemeanor for carrying a pistol without a permit, first offense, and a misdemeanor for giving a false name/date of birth to a peace officer.

Clay’s next appearance in Mower County District Court is scheduled for November 13th.
