Soderwall Called up to Cedar Rapids of USHL
The Rochester Grizzlies of the North American 3 Hockey League have announced goalie Shane Soderwall has been called up to the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders of the United States Hockey League. Soderwall will join the RoughRiders for their weekend home series against the Youngstown Phantoms Friday and Saturday.
Soderwall, 17, is in his first season in the NA3HL. The native of Algonquin, IL, has enjoyed success with the Grizzlies so far this season. He has a record of 9-1 with two shutouts and 2.00 goals against average to go along with a .910 save percentage. Prior to joining the Grizzlies, Soderwall played the past three seasons with the Chicago Fury program.
The Grizzlies are set for a big evening Saturday as it’s Pink in the Rink night against the North Iowa Bulls. Proceeds from this game will be donated to Mayo Clinic for cancer research. There will be a post game jersey auction where fans can bid on game-worn Pink in the Rink jerseys. It’s also a Saturday Night Showdown sponsored by Sterling State Insurance Agency, as one lucky fan will have a chance to shoot for $1,000. Puck drop is set for 7 PM from the Rochester Recreation Center. Fans can still get their tickets and Pink in the Rink tee shirts at the Grizzlies’ front office Friday till 5 PM.
