Six additional COVID-19 cases recorded in Mower County Wednesday for cumulative total of 4,728

Mower County logged 4,596 confirmed and 132 probable COVID-19 cases Wednesday for a cumulative total of 4,728 since the onset of the pandemic, a rise of six from Tuesday, according to statistics released Wednesday by the Minnesota Department of Health.  Health officials stated that 42,964 healthcare workers in the state have now tested positive for the virus, and over 597,600 people have now been reported as no longer needing isolation.

Olmsted County recorded 13,438 cumulative cases Wednesday, up five from Tuesday, Steele County confirmed 3,990 cumulative cases Wednesday, up two from Tuesday and Freeborn County reported 3,481 cumulative COVID-19 cases Wednesday, which was up three from Tuesday.  Dodge County now has 1,877 cumulative cases for a 10th straight day Wednesday and Fillmore County recorded 1,581 cumulative COVID-19 cases Wednesday, up three from Tuesday.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 231 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Wednesday for a cumulative total of 606,034, and they added that no additional COVID-19 deaths were reported in the state from Tuesday to Wednesday to keep the cumulative total at 7,615 since the onset of the pandemic.  A total of 32,749 COVID-19 patients in the state have required hospitalization since the start of the pandemic, and 6,634 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
