Seven additional COVID-19 cases reported in Mower County Wednesday for cumulative total of 4,486

Mower County logged 4,366 confirmed and 120 probable COVID-19 cases Wednesday for a cumulative total of 4,486 since the onset of the pandemic, a rise of seven from Tuesday, according to statistics released Wednesday by the Minnesota Department of Health.  Health officials stated that 40,158 healthcare workers in the state have now tested positive for the virus, and over 522,800 people have been reported as no longer needing isolation.

Olmsted County reported 12,647 cumulative COVID-19 cases Wednesday, a jump of 34 from Tuesday, Steele county recorded 3,546 cumulative cases Wednesday, a rise of 20 from Tuesday and Freeborn County confirmed 3,236 cumulative COVID-19 cases Wednesday, up 14 from Tuesday.  Dodge County now has 1,691 cumulative COVID-19 cases, up seven from Tuesday and Fillmore County recorded 1,510 cumulative cases Wednesday, up one from Tuesday.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 1,715 positive COVID-19 tests in the state Wednesday for a cumulative total of 547,101, and they added that Minnesota’s death toll from the coronavirus rose by 16 Wednesday for a total of 6,978 since the onset of the pandemic.  A total of 28,636 COVID-19 patients in Minnesota have required hospitalization since the pandemic started, and 5,858 of those patients have required treatment in intensive care units.
